Annis (Ann) Smith, 87, passed away peacefully March 21, 2024, in Ephrata, Wash. She was born Feb. 19, 1937, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Harold and Thelma Hutton.

She was known for her love of God, pink roses and being a good mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Singing "Jesus Loves Me," playing the piano by ear, and from scratch making the best whole wheat bread (from the wheat harvested into flour) and donuts helped too.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Smith, on Sept. 26, 2020.

Annis is survived by her children, Andrea and husband Mike Schield, Arlyn Smith, Allen and wife Ginger Smith, Anthony Smith, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and dear friends.

On Friday, April 12, at 10:30 a.m., a short graveside service will be held at the Ephrata Cemetery next to Lions Park. A celebration of life service will then be held at Ephrata Church of Christ located at 31 Crest Drive at 11 a.m.

We most of all want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you at Columbia Basin Hospital/Garden Oasis, People for People, Moses Lake Dialysis and Hospice who took such good care of her.

In lieu of flowers, cards would be appreciated, and/or support your local pet shelter as she loved pets.
