Registration for Give NCW Turkey Trot now open
WENATCHEE — Registration has opened for the Give NCW Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day in Wenatchee, according to an announcement from the Community Foundation of NCW.
Give NCW Turkey Trot will feature timed 5K and 10K runs, as well as an untimed free 1K kids run that will start and finish on the Apple Capital Loop Trail adjacent to Pybus Public Market, the announcement said. All three distances are open to walkers, too. The first 750 people who sign up for the 5K and 10K are guaranteed a commemorative winter beanie hat.
The event will officially kick off the Community Foundation’s annual Give NCW fundraising campaign for nonprofit organizations in North Central Washington, the announcement said.
The Wenatchee Valley Medical Group is the Turkey Trot’s presenting sponsor, which allows the Community Foundation to keep registration fees low and maximize the contributions back to the campaign’s nonprofit organizations, according to the announcement. Registration for the Give NCW Turkey Trot will be $20 for the 5K and $30 for the 10K. Girls on the Run program participants and Community for the Advancement of Family Education participants will receive free entries.
All proceeds from Turkey Trot will be shared equally among the nonprofit organizations that participate in the Give NCW campaign through the Give to All pool, the announcement said. Nonprofits are encouraged to participate in the Thanksgiving Day event. The “Best Dressed Individual” will receive $500 from the Community Foundation to donate to a Give NCW nonprofit of their choice, and the “Most Spirited Group” will receive $1,000 from the Community Foundation to donate to a Give NCW nonprofit of their choice.
Participants can register at runsignup.com/turkeyncw or at www.cfncw.org.
