Bonnie Kahananui
Bonnie "Bon-Bon" Kahananui, 74, passed away at Brookdale — Hearthstone Assisted Living due to health complications Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023.
Born Bonnie Althea Wetzel in St. Paul, Minn., on Jan. 31, 1949, she eventually moved to Moses Lake with her family in 1960.
Bonnie continued to live in Moses Lake, where she met and married Keoki Kahananui in 1986. Bonnie belonged to the Eagles and Moose clubs and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She loved doing arts and crafts and collecting. Bonnie had several jobs but the one she loved most was working as a cashier at the Hilltop Conoco where she was able to meet many new friends.
Bonnie is survived by her son, David Knox, daughter Lynnette Ekman, grandsons Duane Ekman, Andrew Juaire, Johnny Juaire and Cory Juaire, and her only granddaughter, Nikole Knox.
She is also survived by her brother, Ralph Dillon, and sister Linda Bruce, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial is planned.
