WENATCHEE — Businesses in Grant, Okanogan, Douglas and Chelan counties are being encouraged to exhibit at a series of college and career fairs planned for the four counties in October and November.

The NCW College and Career Expos are designed to give high school students throughout the region a look at some of the options available to them, according to a press release from the North Central Education Service District in Wenatchee.

“We know that our students benefit most from early and frequent participation in high-quality career-connected learning opportunities as they prepare to enter the workforce,” wrote Tami McBride, NCESD career connected specialist, in a press release. “We want to expose kids to as many career paths as possible (and) to show them the many pathways they can take after graduating.”

The Grant County expo will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 12 at Big Bend Community College.

There’s no charge for businesses that want to participate, but they are required to have at least one representative available at the booth for the entire time.

Exhibitors can register for any or all three expos. The Okanogan County event is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 18 at the Okanogan Agriplex at the Okanogan County Fairgrounds. The combined Chelan-Douglas County expo will be from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 7 at Wenatchee Valley College.

“Businesses, educational institutions, training programs and student support services are encouraged to participate as exhibitors,” the press release said.

In addition to the NCESD and the Apple STEM Network, sponsors include BBCC and WVC, WorkSource, SkillSource, Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation and the Foundation for Youth Resiliency and Engagement.

People interested in exhibiting can find additional details at the NCESD website, www.ncesd.org/career-expos.
