OTHELLO — A 40-year-old man was transported to an out-of-area hospital after falling and suffering a leg injury Tuesday in the 1100 block of South Schaake Road southwest of Othello.

The man fell from a height of six to 12 feet, according to a post from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. He suffered injuries to his left leg, the post said, and was transported via air ambulance.

GEORGE — Two missing persons, one case of simple assault, one case of threatening behavior and one vehicle prowl were reported during the weekend concert by the Dave Matthews Band at the Gorge Amphitheater, according to a post from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Twenty incidents were reported from Aug. 30 to Sept. 4, the GCSO post said.

Preliminary statistics from the weekend included three reports of property theft and two reports of trespassing. There were two reports of disturbances, one family fight, two reports of intoxication, one traffic offense, one medical problem, one animal problem and two administrative reports.

The statistics don’t include people treated by onsite medical personnel, the GCSO post said.

MARDON — An Othello man was charged with driving too fast for the conditions as a result of a Tuesday accident about 10 miles west of Warden that closed State Route 262 for about seven hours.

Miguel Fuentes, 31 was driving east on SR 262 near O’Sullivan Dam at about 9 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve, according to a press release from the Washington State Patrol. He was not hurt, the WSP release said, and drove himself to Othello Community Hospital.

Fuentes was driving a truck loaded with potatoes; the truck tipped and spilled the potatoes onto the roadway, the WSP release said. The vehicle came to rest blocking the roadway. The damage caused the truck to leak fuel, but the leak was contained and didn’t get into the Potholes Reservoir, according to a post from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

The road was closed until about 4 p.m., according to an announcement from the Washington Department of Transportation.
