STCU opens Othello drive-through branch
OTHELLO — Credit union STCU opened its new location in Othello on Tuesday, a drive-through-only branch located at 1335 E. Main St., according to an announcement from the credit union.
The statement said the original branch’s single-lane drive-through was often overwhelmed at peak business hours.
“Right away, we were thrilled to see so many members in need of services in Othello,” said STCU Retail Director Luke Todd. “This new location will allow us to continue to provide the kind of timely, member-first service that is expected from STCU, for years to come.”
According to the announcement, phase two of construction at the new branch starts next year and will add a lobby, expanding the drive-through to a full-service STCU location.
Simultaneous with the opening of the new drive-through, STCU plans to close just the drive-through at its existing Othello branch, located at 450 E. Main St. Once phase two of construction is finished at the new location, the statement said that STCU plans to close the old location entirely. Othello Branch Manager Kerrie Petersen will lead both locations.
“STCU remains focused on providing the best facilities and services to our members across the region,” STCU President and CEO Ezra Eckhardt said. “While the use of online banking and our mobile app continues to grow, the demand for the Othello drive-through tells us that members still value in-person service from an STCU representative at a brick-and-mortar location.”
According to the statement, STCU has 39 locations in Washington and Idaho, and a Moses Lake branch will be opening in 2024. For more information, visit stcu.org.
