Amy Shannon Kissler

| October 25, 2023 3:43 PM

Amy Shannon Kissler, 44, was born Oct. 29, 1978, and passed away peacefully Oct. 19, 2023.

Amy was born in Ephrata, Wash., and spent most of her life in Grant County.

Amy is survived by her parents, Eric “Rick” Kissler (Chris) and Donna Pelham (Bruce), brothers Robbe Kissler (Patrica) and Tracy Kissler (LeRoy), nephews Brandon Kissler and Daniel Kissler, great-nephews Kade, Jhett and Leon.

She is preceded in death by grandparents, Dan and Dorothy Kissler, and Tom and Bessie Hawes.

Amy’s magnetic personality and zest for life were truly remarkable. She had a heart of gold and a knack for making people smile. Whether she was cracking jokes or lending a helping hand, Amy’s presence was a gift to all lucky enough to know her.

She attended school at Wenatchee Christian Academy and Quincy Public Schools.

In her young years, she worked at two family-owned businesses in George, Wash. D & D Berry Farm and the George Scales. Amy, along with her companion BJ Moore, helped take care of her Grandmother, Bessie Hawes. Most recently she sold vintage finds online.

Amy loved Christmas, birthdays, surprises, kids and animals. Amy was thoughtful and caring — described by Pastor Jesse as high on the scale of compassion. She was a true hero and leader in her circle of friends. Taxi driver, friend, navigator, therapist, whatever the task, she was up to the challenge. A long trip to Kansas to take a disabled friend to visit his elderly mother tops the list of things she would do for others. She was so thoughtful and caring. She never met a stranger. Birthdays were never forgotten; in fact, she would rally everyone in the family to call you. If you couldn’t answer — no problem. She would leave a heartfelt happy birthday sing-along message.

Amy Shannon Kissler loved her family and friends with all her heart, and we all loved her back. When the music fades into the past, and our days on earth are through, one can only pray that everyone had a chance to be loved by family the way that Amy did.
