Linda J. Parks Marean

Linda Jean Parks Marean, 73, of Lawrenceburg, Ky., formerly of Klamath Falls, Ore., passed away Oct. 16, 2023, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center, Frankfort, Kentucky. Born in Emporia, Kan., on April 13, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Donald Parks and Nina Jean Taylor Parks.

Linda worked as a music teacher in Oregon for over 30 years and directed many church and community vocal and handbell choirs. After moving to Kentucky, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort where she directed the handbell choir. Active with the Anderson County Extension Service in Lawrenceburg, Ky., she was a member of the Anderson Piece Makers and Wilderness Trace Quilt Guild in Harrodsburg. She was also an avid supporter of the Anderson County Senior Center in Lawrenceburg.

Linda is the wife of 47 years to William C. “Bill” Marean of Lawrenceburg. She is also survived by her daughters, Carrie Marean-Reardon (husband Patrick) of Philomath, Ore., and Rachel Linares (husband Gino) of Lawrenceburg, Ky.; two grandchildren Adan Linares and Eva Linares, both of Lawrenceburg; and two sisters, Cheryl Taylor (Bill) and Marian Parks (Stan), both of Washington.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, followed by the service beginning at 1 p.m. at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Wheeler will officiate the service. Linda chose cremation following the services.
