Eviation announces aircraft sale
ARLINGTON — Eviation Aircraft has announced the sale of 25 of its all-electric commuter aircraft to a German-based regional airline, FlyVBird. FlyVBird also took an option to buy 25 additional aircraft, according to a company press release.
The company conducted its first test flight of its nine-seat, battery-powered commuter aircraft, called Alice, at the Grant County International Airport in September 2022. Eviation, based in Arlington but conducting some of its research in Moses Lake, eventually hopes to manufacture passenger, cargo and executive transport versions, according to previous Columbia Basin Herald reporting.
Eviation’s announcement indicated this brings total orders to more than $5 billion.
FlyVBird plans to provide service to enhance connectivity in rural areas, the Eviation press release said.
“It plans to secure its own Air Operator Certificate to utilize Alice for decentralized and sustainable air travel across Europe,” the press release said.
