Furrever loveable
I’m Chessa, and I’m a super smart girl. I’m being trained to sit, stay, lie down, come when called, walk on a loose leash and even heel! I’m a hound mix and I like to chew on toys and rawhides, and sometimes dig a little. And I can climb a fence! But don’t leave me alone – I don’t like it – and I definitely don’t like loud noises. I’m one and a half years old and I’m not too big and not too small. I’m quite curious of other dogs, but I leave cats alone mostly. I’m good with strangers and children.

My name is Greenie, and I don’t really know how old I am, because I was a stray when I came to Adams County Pet Rescue, but the humans tell me I’m a German Shepard somewhere between four and seven years old. They keep saying I’m a wonderful girl, probably because I’m house-trained. I’m good with all the other dogs I’ve been paired with, and cats too.
My name is Cinnabar, and I’m glad I’m an Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler and not a cat. I’m an adult male and I’m about medium-sized, and I have pretty eyes and big, pointy ears, or at least that’s what they tell me. I don’t really want to live with a cat, but I'll take good care of my humans.
I’m Blaze Foley and I am a graduate of the Ridge Dog Training Program at the Coyote Ridge Correctional Center over in Connell. That means I’m a good boy, and good at lots of stuff, like sitting, staying, lying down, walking on a loose leash and more! I’m a younger mixed-breed dog, and I would love to come home with you if you have other dogs I can play with. With these ears, I’ll hear them coming a mile away!
I have an awesome name. I wanted something super cool, so they named me Grizzlynite. I’m an adult border collie, so I don’t look a lot like a grizzly bear. In fact, a bear would probably be pretty intimidated by how handsome I am. If you want a good boy, I’m right here waiting.
Hello everyone, my name is Forest Clover. I’m a German Shepard mix, but I’m not sure what I’m mixed with exactly. I’m a large adult male, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to play. You should come visit me sometime at Adams County Pet Rescue! I’d love to meet you.
I was born to run around. I’m Laminate, and I am a Shephard. I’m a large dog. I’m the guy you call when you need something herded. I’m up to date on all my vaccinations and I’ve been neutered and microchipped, just like all my friends here at the Adams County Pet Rescue.
If you want to see an adorable mix of dog breeds, look no further than me, Value. I guess they “value,” helping me out here at Adams County Pet Rescue. I am a large male Shepherd and Husky mix and I am ready to come home to a family. Trust me, I’m an adult. I know what I want.
I’m a Husky here in Othello at the Adams County Pet Rescue, and my name is Lucky. Take that as a sign of how lucky you would be to adopt me. I’m a larger male dog, but don’t be too intimidated. Like most dogs, I would love you unconditionally! If you want to meet me, come on over to the ACPR on Bench Road.
Hi, I’m Poppy. As you can see, I’m not as big of a dog as some others, but at least I’m not one of those tiny dogs. I am currently in training at the Ridge Dog Training program, and they’re teaching me a lot of stuff over there. I am house-trained as well! I’m not really sure what kind of dog I am, I just know it's some kind of mix. I’m an adult female, and I don’t mind having other dogs around.
Hello, friends. I’m Artejio and I’m a bit of this and a bit of that, but the folks looking out for me at Adams County Pet Rescue say I’m an Australian Cattle Dog, Blue Heeler and Border Collie mix. I don’t rightly care about all that. I just want to hang out with you and have fun. I am more than willing to let you feed me tasty biscuits and we’ll negotiate tummy rub privileges. All of my vaccinations are up to date; I’ve got a microchip, and I’m ready to come home with you.
A cute sniffer is the Bedrock of a good pupper, or so I’ve heard, and that’s how I got my name. I’m a German Shepherd mix – mixed with awesome and love, that is – and I’m ready to come home with you. I love hanging out with other dogs and I’m a girl with class. Come say hi at the shelter and let’s see if we make a good fit. I’m young, so I’ll be by your side for years to come if we’re a proper match. Looking forward to sniffing you – politely of course.
I’m Rubble and I’m a bit a cutie in front of the camera from the looks of things, but I’m a young fella who likes to be on the move and would like to play with you and your family. I like other puppers because we all know doggos are the best friends a person can get. Come hang out with me in the play yard at the shelter for a few minutes and we’ll see if we’re a good pairing. Can’t wait to see you at ACPR.
Hey there, I’m an adult male DOG named Tiger. I’m not actually a tiger, so I want to make sure you know that. I’m a ridge dog in training and I’m looking for a home that will suit my big size and awesome personality. I’m fully grown but still have years of love to give to the right family. I like other dogs and I’d love to meet you, even if it’s just to play for a bit. Let’s do this.
Hey there. I’m Gibbs and I may be the most handsome good boy at ACPR. My bud, Rubble, seems to think that’s a bit vein, but I hear he uses whisker wax, so… Yeah. Anyhow, I’m a house-trained adult male Pit Bull Terrier and I’d love to come hang out with you in your house and just have a good time. Let’s hang out and be ridiculously good looking together.
What’s up, folks? I’m Anvers and frankly, I just want to come be a great Shepherd mix part of your life. I love being outside with my human friends and I enjoy the company of other dogs once I get to know them. Let’s see if I can teach you how to play catch. I may also have a thing for doggy biscuits, but you’ll have to come visit me to find out.
Hello there. I’m a Shepherd mix named Yates and I’m a young, healthy, tall drink of water that just wants to come be your best friend. I like other dogs and scratches behind the ear – but really, who doesn’t? Please stop by and let’s find out if we’re a good fit to spend a lot of fun times together.
Hey y’all. I’m Luna Merriwood - you can call me Luna - and I’m a Husky with lots of energy, a gorgeous coat and eyes to stop anyone in their tracks with awe. I’m a grown up lady and I like other dogs and having fun. I’d love to go explore the world with you and snuggle up when we get back from our adventures. Come see me at the shelter and let’s start building years of fun together.
Hey there, my name is Tanwen and I’m a Terrier of sorts who may also be a wizard, if the rumors are true. You’ll have to stop by the shelter and see if we can make a magical connection and have some fun times. I’m full grown. I like other dogs, and I’m betting we’ll get along just fine, especially if you’re as much a fan of bacon as I am.
Hey folks, I’m Sanyu and I’m an official Ridge Dog program graduate. Call the shelter for more info on what that means, but the main thing is that I’m as adorable a dog as you’ll ever see. I tend to adopt wonderful people and things, then I love them and squeeze them and call them George in the most abominable way. (I may also know a writer that likes Bugs Bunny way too much.) Stop by to see my friends and I at ACPR and we’ll have a bit of fun together and see if we work well together. Bye, George.
OTHELLO — Adams County Pet Rescue, also commonly referred to as ACPR, recently put out a call for the public’s help in supporting their work to care for strays. As part of the Columbia Basin Herald’s efforts to support nonprofits in the community, we encourage families to consider adopting pets from ACPR and other shelters in the area with responsible pet care practices.
All of the pets available for adoption through ACPR are spayed or neutered, are up-to-date on their vaccinations and are ready to come home with the right owner. Staff at ACPR are willing to introduce you to the available pets and help you find the right puppy personality for your home.
The pets included in this gallery are just a portion of the dogs available for adoption at ACPR. The shelter also has cats available if that is your preference.
If you are unable to adopt, you can donate to ACPR via PayPal (paypal.me/AdamsCountyPetRescue) and Venmo (@AdamsCountyPetRescue).
The shelter is located at 1961 W. Bench Road in Othello and may be reached via phone at 509-488-5514 or by email at adopt@adamscountypetrescue.com.
