Denis Noel 'Pete' Hardenbrook

Denis Noel “Pete” Hardenbrook passed away in Moses Lake, Wash., on Sept. 28, 2023.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Coralee Gill, four children: Dean Hardenbrook, Keith Hardenbrook (Deena Genz), Jeff Hardenbrook (Kathy Hardenbrook), Lindsay Gill (Josh Gonzalez), one adored granddaughter, Nora Gill, and his ex-wife and friend, Sue Hardenbrook.

Pete was predeceased by his parents, Edson and Matilda Hardenbrook, two brothers, Edson and Darwin Hardenbrook, and two sisters, Frances Herrin and Lois Fisher.

Pete was born at home in Paradise, Mont., on June 28, 1934. The family moved to Cordova, Alaska, in 1946, and to Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1948. Pete moved to Washington state in 1980.

Pete was athletic and very involved in school sports. He loved the outdoors and was especially fond of snowmobiling and downhill skiing.

Pete was a proud Alaskan resident for more than 35 years and will be laid to rest in Fairbanks, Alaska, in the Birch Hill Cemetery. He will be remembered as a kind, generous and loving husband, father, papa and friend. At Pete’s request, there will be no service.
