William Jesse (Billy) Sanchez
Billy, 44, suddenly and unexpectedly joined his father and brother in Heaven on Sept. 27, 2023, after a brief illness.
William (Billy) was born Aug. 4, 1979, to Jesse and Louise Sanchez at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash. He grew up and attended school in Quincy, graduating as a 12-year senior from Quincy High School in 1998, where he was a member of the QHS FFA, band and baseball team. He attended Big Bend Community College and was employed by Walmart for 23 years.
Billy was the sweetest, kindest and most generous soul. His love for his family was matched only by his brother Jesse, who was Billy's best friend. He loved football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs, spending time with his family and a good barbecue. He loved collecting sports cards and memorabilia and collectibles from the ’80s and ’90s, which were his most prized possessions. He frequented sports card shops and became friends with the owners due to his constant visits.
Billy was a familiar face at Walmart for over 20 years and developed many friendships and relationships with coworkers and customers — his absence will be missed by his fellow employees. Billy had no children but accepted and saw his nieces and nephews as his own. He never missed a baseball or football game, school program or birthday celebration for them. He was close to them all and loved them with his whole heart. He was also the first person to pull out his wallet and donate or volunteer to pay whenever someone needed help, even if he didn't have much himself. His generosity and big heart were well-known by all who knew him. His smile, laugh and good-natured personality will be missed.
Billy is survived by his mother, Louise; sister Julie and brother-in-law Jason; sister-in-law Jessica; nephews Micah, Lincoln and Christian; and niece Kaylee and great-nieces Kamiya and Analiyah. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse, brother Jesse Joe, paternal grandparents Abel and Ygnasia, maternal grandparents William and Mary and his cousin, Auggie. Services will be announced at a later date.
