Esther Valdez

| November 27, 2023 2:05 PM

Esther Valdez a Moses Lake resident entered heaven Nov. 21, 2023 at the age of 49 after a fairly private yearlong battle with cancer.

She was born Dec. 25, 1973 in Moses Lake, Wash., to Alfredo and Rebecca Valdez. Esther was raised to love and believe in the Lord at El Sendero de la Cruz. She later attended the Assembly of God and was rebaptized in April 2018. Esther graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1992, earned her associate degree from Big Bend Community College, and was working towards her bachelor’s degree. She worked in various office administration positions throughout her life. She had one gorgeous daughter, Jaylynn. Her daughter was her pride and joy, her whole life. Wherever Jaylynn went, you would be sure to find Esther cheering her on. She was a very proud Molahiette alumnus and mom.

Esther’s smile lit up any room she walked into. She was a friend to all. Many would describe Esther as charming, witty, and feisty! She lived her life to the fullest and loved to have a good time.

She is survived by her only daughter, Jaylynn Angel, who is expecting her first child, her siblings, Lucinda (Charles), Maria, Alfredo III (Sonya), David (Heather), her partner, Juan Mendez, numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Valdez, and her father, Alfredo Valdez, and sibling Baby Valdez.

A joint service for Rebecca Garza Valdez and Esther Valdez will be held Dec. 29, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Restore City Church for both Rebecca and Esther Valdez. After the service family and friends will gather at Restore City to share a meal and memories.
