Quincy PD swears in two new officers
QUINCY — Jesse King and Hector Avila were sworn in as Quincy Police Department officers and Officer Sal Mancini was recognized for 20 years with the department during the Quincy City Council meeting Tuesday.
Mayor Paul Worley presented Mancini with a certificate, patch and pin commemorating two decades with the QPD.
“You’ve been through three mayors, seven chiefs, done most every job with the police department,” Worley said. “Nationally 20 years is a hell of an accomplishment.”
Families and QPD officers filled the council chambers while Mancini was recognized and King and Avila were sworn in.
It’s the second time with the QPD for King, who worked for the Grant County Sheriff’s Office before returning to Quincy. Avila previously worked in Wenatchee before joining the QPD, he said.
