Mattawa man dies in rollover
RICHLAND — A Mattawa man was killed when the car he was riding in ran off the road and rolled at about 2:30 a.m. Nov. 18.
Florentino Jacinto Santos, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, about 17 miles west of Richland on State Route 240, according to a press release from the Washington State Patrol. He was a passenger in a car driven by Jorge Procopio Marcelino, 22, Beverly.
The WSP memo said Procopio Marcelino was driving west when he ran off the road and the car rolled. Alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, the memo said.
Procopio Marcelnio was injured but not transported. A second passenger, Orlando Vargas Mondragon, 33, Beverly, was not injured.
It’s unknown whether Jacinto Santos was wearing a seatbelt, the WSP memo said.
