Quincy’s downtown filled with treats and horrors

QUINCY — Downtown Quincy was filled with dinosaurs and witches, ghostbusters and cats, pirates, police officers and princesses, among many others, at the Downtown Trick or Treat walk Tuesday night.

Businesses along Central Avenue North, along with businesses and organizations from around town, set up tables and distributed candy. There was so much candy the bag got too heavy for one small Wonder Woman, who ended up dragging it along the ground.

Two T-Rexes got in a mock fight on the street corner as the whole Addams Family walked by. Some trick-or-treaters brought their pets along, a cat wearing a pumpkin costume in its own backpack and a dog dressed as a prison inmate with his own black and white striped ball.

Some costumes were easier to wear than others, with people needing guides to help them navigate due to headgear that restricted their sight. Some small trick-or-treaters in strollers found it too much work and took a nap as the adults pushed them along.

The trick-or-treat walk was sponsored by the Quincy Chamber of Commerce.
