MOSES LAKE — Future Farmers of America members from Quincy, Moses Lake, Ephrata and Lind-Ritzville were named District Nine officers for 2023-24 at the district meeting at Moses Lake High School May 24.

Quincy’s Levi Kukes will be the district president; Sydney Garza, Moses Lake, will be the vice president. Alyssa Williams, Lind-Ritzville, was elected as secretary and Lane Tellefson, Lind-Ritzville, will be the treasurer. Grace Young, Quincy, was elected as reporter and Hailey Howell of Ephrata as sentinel.

“Candidates completed an application prior to the election that counted for one-third of their score, an interview with the retiring district officers for one-third, and the final third came from a speech before delegates from each chapter,” wrote Quincy FFA advisor Rod Cool in a press release.

The new officers will attend training with other district officers statewide, Cool wrote.

“They will kick off the school year by putting on training for officers in District Nine and hosting the Evergreen Leadership Tour,” he wrote.
