RECAP: State tennis results

COLUMBIA BASIN – Eight tennis players from the Columbia Basin advanced to state tournaments across the state, with four placing in the 4A and 2A classifications.


Moses Lake junior Marwan Warnick - seventh place in 4A Boys Singles.

2-0 win over Skyview’s Aiden Bucerzan in the opening round; 2-0 loss to Bellarmine’s Vasanth Ramachandran in quarterfinals; 2-0 win over Newport’s Tim Tao in fourth/seventh-place semifinals; 2-0 loss to Redmond’s Andrew Zhao in fourth/seventh-place match.


Ephrata sophomore Josh Mullings - eighth place in 2A Boys Singles.

2-0 loss to North Kitsap’s Indigo Gallagher-Zapf in the opening round; 2-1 win over Fort Vancouver’s Andrew Walczyk in consolation first round; 2-0 win over W. F. West’s Aaron Boggess in consolation semifinals; 2-1 loss to North Kitsap’s Dayshawn Harper in fifth/eighth-place match.

Ephrata junior Addison Mills and senior Kacie Shannon - eighth place in 2A Girls Doubles

2-0 loss to Bremerton’s Elena Andreu and Claire Warthen in the opening round; 2-0 win over Enumclaw’s Macy Furtwangler and Ashley Dickerson in consolation first round; 2-1 win over Selah’s Addison Ladd and Macie Ladd in consolation semifinals; 2-0 loss to Pullman’s Kei Bromley and Carlotta Wolf in fifth/eighth-place match.

Boys 1A/2B/1B

Quincy seniors Harrison Hyer and Isaac Dearie - fall in consolation semifinals

2-0 loss to Bush’s Cal Jones and Bernie Rosen in opening round; 2-0 win over Granger’s Kenyon Slade and Arthur Heckert in consolation first round; 2-0 loss to Goldendale’s Eli Golding and Kyden Blunt.

Girls 1A

Royal sophomore Madisen Christensen and senior Campbelle Anderson - first-round loss to Annie Wright’s Amelia Hermann-Scholbe and Alex Middleton.
