Hike 22 set for May 20
MOSES LAKE — The public is invited to join in the annual Hike 22 event on May 20, according to a press release from Renew.
Hike 22 was started in 2018 by Marine veteran Aaron Schrodt and raises awareness of suicide among veterans, the statement said. Studies indicate that 22 veterans die by suicide every day, according to the statement.
Hike 22 begins at Blue Heron Park in Moses Lake at 8 a.m. Participants will hike 22 kilometers, or about 13.6 miles, to Cascade Park and back to Blue Heron Park, according to the statement. There will be a barbecue and social time after the hike. The event is free and all ages are welcome.
