COLUMBIA BASIN — Columbia Basin Allied Arts will be stepping outside the theater this year with its new Civic Series, the organization announced Friday.

The series will include live music from local performers at the Moses Lake Farmers Market every second and fourth Saturday this summer, according to the announcement. CBAA will also sponsor music for after-parties in Lind following the Combine Demo Derby June 9-10 and will have a booth at the Moses Lake Red, White and Boom event on July 1 with crafts for kids, CBAA wrote.

At the Grant County Fair, CBAA will share a booth in the fairgrounds’ Commercial Building with the Central Basin Community Concert Association, the announcement said.

In September, CBAA will sponsor an arts festival portion in conjunction with Moses Lake’s Sip n’ Stroll event, with the goal of filling Third Avenue with 50 artists, and will also co-host the UMANI festival later in the month.

“Our traditional season of fall to spring just wasn’t enough for us; we want to get out in the summer fun with our communities,” wrote CBAA Executive Director Shawn Cardwell in the announcement. “We’ve established amazing relationships with other non-profits, private businesses and government entities in the last couple years – it’s amazing what we can do when we work together!”

Volunteers and vendors are needed, the announcement said. More information can be found at www.cba-arts.org.
