CITY OF OTHELLO NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the City of Othello City Council in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 500 E Main Street, on May 22, 2023, at 6:00 pm. The purpose of the public hearing is to review community development and housing needs, inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and receive comments on proposed activities, particularly from lower income persons residing in the City of Othello. Up to $2,000,000 may be available to the City of Othello on a statewide competitive basis to fund public facilities, community facilities, economic development, planning, and affordable housing projects that principally benefit low- and moderate-income persons. An outline of the proposed projects will be available for review by email request to tmorelos@othellowa.gov beginning May 5, 2023. Comments may also be submitted in writing to the City of Othello until May 22, 2023 A Spanish interpreter will be available. The Council Chambers is handicap accessible. SUMMARY This Ordinance amends chapter 14.36 and sections 17.30.100 of Chapter 17.30 and section 17.40.090 of chapter 17.40 of the Othello Municipal Code.
