Hi Tide

The sounds of the Caribbean will be coming to the stage at the Wallenstien Performing Arts Center with the performance of the Cayman Islands duo Hi Tide. Shane Allenger and Sean Hennings combine acoustic guitar, drums and vocals. The concert is sponsored by the Central Basin Community Concert Association.

The concert is at 7 p.m. at the Wallenstien Performing Arts Center, 6989 College Parkway NE, Moses Lake. Hanford B Reactor tour

The Quincy Valley Historical Society and Museum is sponsoring a road trip to take a tour of the world’s first full-scale nuclear reactor. The tour of the Hanford B Reactor, part of the Hanford Reach National Monument, will be conducted by from the U.S. Department of Energy.

The bus leaves the museum, 415 F St. SW, at 9 a.m. Tickets are $45 per person and include lunch. Advance registration is available at the QVHSM website, www.qvhsm.org.

SING ON is a play about a musical. Written by Rick Abbot, it brings us a crazy playwright, Phyllis Montague, who wishes to become a “Bess Booster.” According to Phyllis, Bess Boosters are folks around the world who feel Queen Elizabeth I was completely misunderstood by historians. She and a family member have written a musical as their entry into the contest to become Bess Boosters. She entices her theater group to perform the musical with the prize money awarded by the Boosters organization. The theater group knows Phyllis is nuts because they have done her plays before but a chance at the prize money is too much to pass up.

Playback theater workshop

Playback theater, also known as "theater of compassion," is among the most widely-known and utilized forms of interactive social change theater. Participants will receive a basic introduction to some key aspects of playback: deep listening, story sharing and the embodiment of feelings to honor stories that are shared. Bloomers on the Bench

Cactus in bloom will be the subject of a road trip sponsored by the Quincy Valley Historical Society and Museum. The “Bloomers on the Bench” tour will feature the blooming cactus along the Babcock Bench southwest of Quincy. Because the tour involves a hike, participants must be able to hike for 20 minutes and stand for a prolonged period of time.

The bus will leave from the museum at 10 a.m. Tickets are $25 per person and include lunch. They can be purchased at the QVHSM website, www.qvhsm.org.

Gumball Rally
