Brian Slaugh

Brian Eugene Slaugh passed away quickly of a heart attack on Feb. 26, 2023, at 62 years of age.

Brian was a resident of West Valley City, Utah at the time of his death. He attended school in Moses Lake, Washington during his junior high and high school years and graduated in 1979 from Moses Lake High School. He also attended BBCC, EWU and Weber State. Brian was single at the time of his death. He is survived by his parents Phil and Doreen Slaugh, sisters Susan Chatterton (Alan) and Sharon Helke and brother Don (Verna) Slaugh. He was preceded in death by his brother Darron. He had numerous cousins, nieces and nephews whom he thoroughly enjoyed.

He was a good cook and worked at Perkins and Porterhouse restaurants in Moses Lake and Marie Callender’s in Utah. He spent 25 years as an employee of the IRS as an examiner in Ogden, Utah and had taken an early retirement because of health issues.

Brian loved all the arts such as plays, music, artwork and books. He had a beautiful singing voice, played the piano and enjoyed acting. He was involved in all three during his high school years. Christmas and Halloween were his favorite holidays and he decorated extensively for them. He also loved nature and when traveling most of his pictures were those of landscapes.

He was a foster caregiver for rescue dogs for many years and had taken care of and loved five of them. Brian was a gentle soul, kind and loving. His wit was a great part of his personality. He was funny as well as clever.

Brian was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints and his funeral service will be held at the church at 925 North Grape Drive on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. with the funeral beginning at 10. Interment will be at Pioneer Memorial Gardens.
