QUINCY — Quincy School Board student representatives Nallely Uribe and Brianna Herrera were recognized for their tenure on the board at their official last meeting June 27.

Board member Tricia Lubach said Uribe, Herrera and Yanetzi Gonzalez, class of 2024, had a unique impact on the board.

“I would like to point out that you are the only student board reps, the three of you together, to actually impact policy for us,” Lubach said. “And that’s a really big deal, because policy goes on forever. Your attention to making sure the student voice really came through in that policy, and the process that was described in it, is something that’s lasting.

“And besides that, you’ve been just wonderfully fun to have on the team,” Lubach added.

“You’ve been outstanding student board reps,” said Quincy Superintendent Nik Bergman. “We have appreciated all your input, and the work and time you put into serving the whole district and your fellow students.”
