EPHRATA – The Ephrata School District announced that Joe Knox will be taking over the Tiger boys wrestling program in a release on Tuesday. According to the release, the selection committee sought an experienced leader, with a strong background in both coaching and building relationships with student-athletes.

“Joe is a great addition to our coaching staff,” Ephrata Athletic Director Bryan Johnson said. “He has a tremendous amount of coaching experience and a proven track record of success. We’re excited to see what he does with our strong boys wrestling program.”

A graduate of Juanita High School and Central Washington University, Knox has spent over two decades as coach in wrestling. From 1995-2006 Knox was an assistant wrestling coach at Ephrata, and from 2011-2023 Knox was an assistant coach at Columbia Middle School in Moses Lake.

“I’m looking forward to bringing a fun and aggressive wrestling style to Ephrata,” said Knox. “It’s my goal to help kids achieve their best while performing at their best. We’re going to build a positive and safe environment where everyone will be challenged and treated with respect.”
