‘Desert Sun’

“Sun and Wind,” one of Fran Church’s mixed media pieces at the Moses Lake Museum & Art Gallery, has a used drum head as its armature, or frame.
This piece, called simply “Desert Sun,” reflects Fran Church’s love of the bright sunshine in Moses Lake.
One of Fran Church’s favorite creations, called “The Committee,” is currently in a gallery in Tennessee. “Now, if you've ever served on a committee, you know that (from left) there's the fussy one. there's the know-it-all and there's the negative guy who's against everything,” she said.
MOSES LAKE — Here in the Basin, we know we have a lot of sunshine, and we generally like it that way. But sometimes it takes a relative newcomer to give us a fresh appreciation.
