Here's a few of the things happening in the Basin this month that seniors can enjoy.

June 6

TOPS

Weight loss support group. 8 a.m. every Tuesday at Lake City Foursquare Church, 333 N. Central Drive. Info: 509-350-2175.

Tech help hour

June 8

Ag World Golf Classic

Tenth annual golf tournament. Proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House, which provides accommodation and support for families of children who need out-of-town medical treatment. 10:30 a.m. at The Links at Moses Pointe, 4524 Westshore Drive NE, Moses Lake. Info: agworldgolf.com.

June 9

Sage-N-Sun Festival

Ephrata goes all out to celebrate summer with food and vendors starting on Friday afternoon, a fun run at 8 a.m. Saturday, a grand parade at 11 a.m. Saturday and the Wenatchee Youth Circus at noon Saturday. Moses Lake Farmers Market

Lind Combine Derby

June 14

Columbia Basin Senior Picnic

Seniors will enjoy a hot meal, live entertainment, and the opportunity to win lots of door prizes. There will also be many exhibitors on sight for seniors to talk with and learn more about senior resources available throughout the Columbia Basin. The theme is “Let Freedom Ring,” and attendees are encouraged to dress in red, white and blue. Free for seniors, $5 for chaperones. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Grant County Fairgrounds Commercial Building, Moses Lake.

Flag Day Ice Cream Social

Flag Day ceremony, music and ice cream. Sponsored by the Veterans Operation Creation. 4-6 p.m. at the Quincy Valley Historical Society and Museum, 415 F St. SW. Info: www.qvhsm.org.

NCW Libraries Personal Essay Workshops for adults

Award-winning journalist, essayist and teacher Kristen Millares Young will lead an interactive writing workshop to help participants tell their own stories. Each hour-long session will begin with a one-page reading to inspire group discussion, followed by timed prompts that guide individual writing sessions. Virtual event. Uke Jam
