Beckie's on 1st Ave.

EPHRATA – Beckie Lewis is the proud owner of Beckie’s on First and The Kids Kloset on First Avenue in Ephrata where they sell a variety of clothing and other items. This year they celebrate the one year anniversary of moving the store into the new building.

“We were located up on Basin Street for almost a year and then we moved to this location on July 7 of last year,” Lewis said.

The new building is in a more opportune area and has more room to supply the store with additional merchandise to sell, she said.

At Beckie’s the biggest selling point is their licensed NFL gear. They get merchandise from about ten different teams with the biggest seller being the Seahawks, but also getting gear for other NFL teams, she said..

Aside from the sports gear there are also other items to browse through such as the Myra handbag line. Beckie’s is also the only store in Eastern Washington that carries the Girlie Girl originals t-shirt line, she said.

Around the store, there are other items to browse through such as graphic hoodies, western wallets, collectibles, local gourmet food items and team lamps that have been custom-made by Lewis’s husband using mostly recycled bottles.

Towards the back of the store is the Kids Kloset section which is a baby and kids resale shop. Clothing found in that area is going to be name-brand clothing such as Nike and Carhart, she said.

“Some of them still have the tags on them,” she said. “So they’re from new to lightly used.”

The Kids Kloset also has toys, books, shoes, baby gear such as walkers and swings. Expectant moms can find maternity wear as well, Lewis said.

In a separate room from the Kids Kloset are repurposed and refinished furniture and collectibles. The furniture found here has been stripped to remove any lead paint and make them safe to have in the home, she said.

Lewis said Beckie’s has something for everyone, but it isn’t necessarily a thrift store.

“That’s the biggest thing that I fight is it’s not a thrift store,” she said. “It’s more NFL and home decor.”

What it all comes down to at the end of the day is that this is Lewis’s store and she gets to decide what she sells and enjoys doing it, she said.

“If I don’t like it I don’t sell it,” she said.
