FUNDING and MEETING NOTICE Grant County, Washington has been awarded federal funds, through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Emergency Food & Shelter National Board Program; in the amount of $59,798. A Local Board comprised of nine non-profit and governmental organizations will determine how the funds awarded to Grant County are to be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service providers in the county. The Local Board will meet on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 3:00 pm through a WebEx meeting to review funding requests and allocate funds. Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local organizations chosen to receive funds must: 1) be a private voluntary non-profit organization or unit of government, 2) be eligible to receive federal funds, 3) have an accounting system, 4) practice nondiscrimination, 5) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 6) if a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board. Qualifying organizations are encouraged to apply. The proposed periodic updates will be discussed by members of the Grant County Development Services staff, their consultants the Planning Commission on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 7 p.m., in the Grant County Commissioner’s Hearing Room on the bottom floor of the Grant County Courthouse in Ephrata, Washington, at which time any person may appear and be heard either for or against the proposed amendments being considered at the public meeting.
