WARDEN — Four people were injured when a driver allegedly ran the stop sign at the intersection of SR 170 and SR 17 about three miles west of Warden Sunday afternoon. A press memo from the Washington State Patrol said drugs or alcohol were involved, and charges are pending against one of the drivers.

According to the WSP press memo, Alvin Korrell, 70, Othello, was driving north on SR 17 when his car was hit by an automobile driven by Breanna Rodriguez, 20, Othello. Rodriguez reportedly ran the stop sign at the intersection and hit Korrell’s car at a high rate of speed. Charges are pending against Rodriguez, the memo said.

Korrell and Rodriguez were transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, and so was a passenger in Korrell’s car, Gloria Korrell, 59, Othello. A passenger in Rodriguez’s vehicle, Rafael Sanchez Andrade, 24, Othello, drove himself to the hospital, the WSP memo said.

Both cars were totaled.
