NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2023 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in Grant County and handled by Lincoln County, State of Washington, there will be held a Special Election for the voters of the Odessa School District #105 for a replacement educational programs and operational levy; a replacement capital levy for school improvements and a levy to purchase a new school bus; and the Othello School District No. 147-163-55 for an excess levy to pay expenses of educational programs and operation. ODESSA SCHOOL DISTRICT #105 PROPOSITION NO. 1 REPLACEMENT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND OPERATIONAL LEVY The Board of Directors of Odessa School District No. 105-157-166J adopted Resolution No. 1-2022-23, concerning a proposition to finance educational programs and operation expenses. This proposition would authorize the District to levy the following excess taxes, in the place of the expiring levy, on all taxable property within the District, for the District’s educational programs and operation expenses not funded by the State of Washington: Estimated Levy Rate $1,000 Collection Year Assessed Value Levy Amount 2024 $1.86 $600,000 all as provided in Resolution No. 1-2022-23 and subject to legal limits on levy rates and amounts at the time of levy. LEVY YES [ ] LEVY NO [ ] OTHELLO SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 147-163-55 PROPOSITION No. 1 REPLACEMENT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND OPERATION LEVY The Board of Directors of Othello School District No. 147-163-55 adopted Resolution No. 23-002, concerning a proposition to finance educational programs and operation expenses. This proposition would authorize the District to levy the following excess taxes, in place of an expiring levy, on all taxable property within the District, for support of the District’s educational programs and operation expenses not funded by the State of Washington: Estimated Levy Rate/$1,000 Collection Year Assessed Value Levy Amount 2024 $1.50 $2,825,000 2025 $1.50 $3,050,000 2026 $1.50 $3,300,000 all as provided in Resolution No. 23-022. NO [ ] There are not any registered voters in Grant County that are in the Othello School District, therefore there will not be any ballots mailed. And there are only 25 registered voters in Grant County that are in the Odessa School District, because of this, Lincoln County will be handling the election for those 25 Grant County registered voters that are involved. The ballots for the February 14, 2023, Special Election will be mailed to the voters between January 26 and January 27, 2023. The ballots for the military and overseas voters were mailed out on January 13, 2023. Lincoln County is in charge of both mailings. The registration deadline for online and mail-in registrations and transfers is February 6, 2023. Any qualified elector who is not registered to vote in the State of Washington may register to vote in person at the Grant County Election’s Office up to and including February 14, 2023. You may register or obtain registration forms at the Election’s Office and online at www.myvote.wa.gov. The Grant County Election’s Office, 35 C St NW, Room 203, at the County Courthouse, will be open so voters may obtain replacement ballots, drop off voted ballots, and use the Accessible Voting Unit at the following times: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM beginning January 30, 2023.
