Delbert McKenzie

Delbert (Del) Ross McKenzie passed away Jan. 7, 2023, at the age of 85 in Moses Lake, Washington. Del was born in Eureka, Montana February 2, 1937. He grew up in Fortine, Montana along with his eight brothers and sisters.

Del married Jane Halverson Sept. 5, 1959 in Lethbridge, Alberta. They met at Canadian Bible College in Regina, Saskatchewan. Del and Jane served together with The Christian Missionary Alliance for over 50 years. Del pastored churches in Montana, Idaho, Alberta, and Washington. He also served as a District Superintendent in the Rocky Mountain District out of Billings, Montana.

Del had a love for the Bible, serving others, mentoring men and leading others to Christ. Del was influential in the lives of many pastors, church leaders, teachers, family and friends. He also had a contagious love of the outdoors, especially cutting wood in the hills of Montana.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; son Tim McKenzie and daughter Melodee Jackson (Pat); grandchildren Rachel Cook (Daniel), Amanda Hillman (Tyler), Travis Jackson (Danae) and Tyson Jackson, sister Shirley Cox, brothers Gene (Alice), Don (Lori), Harold (Judy), Ken, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life service will be held Feb. 27, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Moses Lake Alliance Church. A livestream option will also be made available for those unable to attend.
