On Saturday (January 7th), Big Bend's Lady Vikings outscored Community College of Spokane 21-13 in the final quarter of play to down the Sasquatch on the road 71-69, and notch their first NWAC eastern region win of the season.

Finding themselves down by as many as 12 points in the opening quarter, the Lady Vikings, fought from behind the entire contest to take the lead on a three-pointer from freshman Skylee Hopkins with 4:19 remaining in the contest. The contest would be back-and-forth from there on out, with key plays down the stretch putting the Lady Vikings on top for good.

Sophomore Ambra Hacker posted a monstrous game, going 12-16 from the field and 10-13 from the free-throw line, to lead the Lady Vikings with 34 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Hopkins was the only other double-figure scorer, as she finished with ten points. However, freshman Macy Hellstern continued her stat-stuffing ways, recording seven points, five rebounds, ten assists, and five steals. In defeat, Madeline Gebers led the Lady Sasquatch with 29 points.

The Lady Vikings (7-7 overall, 1-1 NWAC East) will host their first eastern region action of the season on Wednesday, January 11th versus North Idaho College (8-5 overall, 2-0 NWAC East). Gametime is set for 5:30pm, with the men's game to follow.
