Wahluke senior Anthony Zebrano took third place in the 1A Boys 220-pound bracket of the Mat Classic this weekend in Tacoma.

Ephrata senior Jose Pelayo, right, was one of two Tigers to place in the 2A Boys division at the Mat Classic. Pelayo took fourth place in the 2A Boys 285-pound bracket.
Lind-Ritzville/Sprague sophomore Brock Tracy, top, took fifth place in the boys 2B/1B 195-pound bracket at the 2023 Mat Classic at the Tacoma Dome.
Quincy senior David Medina, background, placed second in the 1A Boys 220-pound bracket at the Mat Classic this weekend. Medina was joined by sophomore Saidt Alvarez as a Jackrabbit placer, who took fourth in the 1A Boys 106-pond bracket.
Warden junior Brianalee Martinez, top, placed fourth in the Girls 2A/1A/2B/1B 110-pound bracket at the Mat Classic this weekend.
TACOMA – Thirty-four Basin athletes placed at the 2023 Mat Classic at the Tacoma Dome over the weekend, including Moses Lake’s Ashley Naranjo, Royal’s Alondra Morales and Othello’s Terrill Freeman taking home state titles.
