Nonprofits receive donations from Light Up Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE — Three Moses Lake nonprofit organizations received donations of $539 each, courtesy of the annual Light Up Moses Lake contest, its sponsors and participants.
Donations went to Youth Dynamics, People for People and Care Moses Lake. The money was raised from entry fees from people who signed up for Light Up Moses Lake, and donations from event sponsors.
Chamber manager Debbie Doran-Martinez said the organizers pick out three nonprofit organizations every year.
“Each time, we try to select a variety (of organizations),” she said.
Care Moses Lake provides support for local nonprofit organizations and has some projects of its own, including a weekly distribution of sack lunches for people in need. Youth Dynamics works to support young people through outdoor activities, a local place for young people and leadership opportunities, among others. People for People provides fare-free transportation for residents of Grant and Adams counties, among others in Central Washington.
