Safe Streets for All funds local programs
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Department of Transportation has awarded a total of about $9.2 million to communities in Washington through the Safe Streets for All program. Grant County will receive a portion of those funds.
“There were 745 fatalities on roads in the State of Washington in 2022, the most in more than 30 years,” said U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) in a release by her office.
“We must reverse this alarming trend,” Cantwell said.
The Safe Streets for All program delivers funding for the creation of new safety action plans, the release stated.
Grant County will receive $280,000 through the program.
