| December 28, 2023 3:10 PM

After a short illness, David Ross Morehouse, 73, died on Pearl Harbor Day, Dec. 7, 2023.

David was born at St. Anthony Hospital on July 4, 1950, in Wenatchee, Wash. He was the second of four children of his parents Wallace and Peggy Crial Morehouse.

He went home to Ephrata, Wash., to be with them and for his brother Rick Morehouse's first birthday. They were more like identical twins than brothers through their years and both were active in high school activities. His residence throughout his youth was Ephrata, Wash., and he graduated from Ephrata High School in 1968. He then attended college at Washington State University majoring in Pharmaceutical Science and internship.

During his young years of advanced education, he worked managing hospitality businesses in the area around the University in Pullman, Spokane, and Montana. He met his future wife, Kerry Havilind, at the university. They married and had one son, Ryan Wolfe; they divorced early on.

Life’s curves moved David to Hawaii for the second half of his life. He had worked in hospitality events throughout Waikiki. He managed hotels and other buildings; social events and tour expeditions on boats. David met his life partner, Cesar Gutierrez, there and they spent 22 years of the new millennium together.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Wally and Peggy and his oldest brother Richard

He is survived by many dear friends and family, especially in Waikiki. Including his life partner, Cesar Gutierrez.

He is survived by his son Ryan Wolfe — wife Andrea — and two precious grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother Keith Morehouse — wife Bonnie — of Soap Lake, Wash.

His sister Julie Downing — husband Mark — of Corvallis, Mont. and his sister-in-law Karen of East Wenatchee, Wash. His nieces Ona, Megan and Deanna; and nephews lan and Kevin and their children.
