Loris Lee Nelson was born March 23, 1927, in Bear River City, Utah, to Melvin F. Nelson and Meltrude Anderson Nelson, and was the eldest of four children.

When Loris was 5 years old, the family moved to Corinne, Utah, where she grew up on the family farm. Loris attended Box Elder High School in Brigham City, Utah. She met Ronald Anderson at a church dance in Bear River City, Utah. They started dating shortly thereafter and were married in Elko, Nevada on August 29, 1943. They were later sealed in the Logan Utah Temple on August 26, 1944.

Shortly after their marriage, Ronald enlisted in the army and served in Germany during World War II. After being discharged from the army, they farmed in Bear River City, Utah, where their four boys, Brent, Jerry, Randy, and Richard Lee (Rick) were born.

In 1953, three weeks after the birth of Rick, the family moved to Moses Lake, Washington and farmed in the Block 42 area, south of Moses Lake. During this time, two daughters, Ronda Lee, and Lori Jo, were added to the family.

Loris was very involved during the harvest season, driving truck during both the potato and sugar beet harvests. This experience prepared her for driving a school bus for the Moses Lake School District for 13 years, which she loved.

Loris was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held a variety of positions over the years, starting at age 16. She served in Primary, Young Women, Relief Society and as a Ward, Stake, and Regional Sports Director for Young Women. Loris and Ronald also served in the Seattle, Washinton Temple as ordinance workers for 16 years. She noted that their service together in the temple was her favorite calling of all.

Loris is survived by her children Brent (Patricia) Anderson, Jerry (Dee Anne) Anderson, Randy (Christine) Anderson, Rick (Renee) Anderson, Ronda (Terry) Bruce, and Lori Jo (Earney) Dobbs. She is also by 40 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Rodney (Peggy) Nelson, of Honeyville, Utah, and many nieces and nephews.

Loris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ronald C. Anderson, her sister, Joan Nelson, and her brother, Ronald Nelson. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Robynne Anderson, four grandsons Barry Anderson, Scott Anderson, Brian Anderson, and one great-grandson, Kai Anderson.

Loris Anderson will be laid to rest at Guardian Angels Cemetery located at 2595 Road L NE, Moses Lake, Washington.

The family would like to express deep gratitude and appreciation to the Moses Lake 7th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their devoted compassionate service to Loris, and to Lana and Naz Tsymbalyuk of the May Valley Adult Family Home for their kind and loving care.
