Masquers to audition for ‘Harvey’
SOAP LAKE — Open auditions for the Masquers production of “Harvey” will be Dec. 18 and 19 at 6 p.m. at the theater located at 322 E. Main St. in Soap Lake.
“Harvey” was a smash hit when it premiered on Broadway in 1944 and won the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1945. It tells the story of Elwood P. Dowd, who’s — well, here’s the thing. Elwood insists he has this friend named Harvey, an invisible rabbit that’s 6 feet tall. Elwood is a nice guy, people around town don’t mind this, but his sister, Veta, does. There must be something she can do.
The cast includes six men and six women, mostly more than 18 years of age. Pat Rosman is the director. More information can be found on the Masquers website, www.masquers.com.
