EPHRATA — The trees to be raffled in the first Festival of Trees in Ephrata will be on display through Dec. 12 at the Columbia Basin Foundation office, 101 Basin St. SW. The trees are on display from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 12, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, during the Bells on Basin town celebration.

It’s a brand-new event for Ephrata, and for 2023 the trees will be raffled, said Corinne Isaak, one of the organizers. Tickets are $5 each or six for $25 and can be purchased at the Foundation office.

Winners will be announced the evening of Dec. 12.

Isaak said all proceeds will go to His Helping Hands, which provides support for people in need. The organization plans to prepare a Christmas Day meal for its clientele and will use some of the money to buy gifts for its giving tree. His Helping Hands also provides regularly scheduled meals and supplies to help people during the winter, including coats and blankets, Isaak said.
