SLPC seeks volunteers, promotes training opportunities

SOAP LAKE – The Soap Lake Prevention Coalition is seeking volunteers to assist with launching the PAX Good Behavior Game, as well as promoting training opportunities In Bellevue and Spokane, the coalition announced earlier this month.

Soap Lake Elementary School Principal Kandice Hansen has been helping the SLPC, a community group focused on preventing substance abuse, launch the PAX Good Behavior Game, which will lead to PAX Tools Community Workshops in the future. Volunteers are being sought after to promote and organize the program, with a commitment attending two meetings lasting an hour-and-a-half for volunteers.

The SLPC also promoted two training opportunities; one in Bellevue and one in Spokane.

The National Coalition Academy in Bellevue is from Sept. 25-28 and expenses are covered except for time.

The Washington Prevention Summit in Spokane is from Oct. 24-25 and is beginner-friendly. Young adults and youth are welcome.
