April 15, 1943 – August 9, 2023

Louise Peeples, 80, went home to her Savior on Aug. 9, 2023. She was born in Seattle, Washington on April 15, 1943, to John and Lola Parker. She attended Seattle schools until her father’s career took her to Diablo Dam in the High Cascades where she attended Concrete High School.

She came to Moses Lake where she gave birth to both of her daughters at Larson Air Force Base. She met her husband David through a coffee date that blossomed into their 52-year marriage. Dave’s career moved them to Spokane where Louise was a keypunch operator for several years. Louise always enjoyed supporting her daughters Connie and Teri in their cheerleading and choir activities with unconditional love as they matured and grew. She enjoyed cake decorating and began painting again.

Her husband’s enlistment in the Navy moved them to San Diego for the next 20 years. There she groomed and enhanced her artistic talents in their art community. She was known for her wild animal portraits, always done in pastels. She showed her art in several galleries. She won first place twice at the Religious Art Festival in San Diego. Art was her passion. She also enjoyed her years there roller skating. She competed at the Silver Level as well as skate dancing competitions.

After Navy retirement they relocated to Moses Lake to be near their family. She made many new friends through her church family and painting clubs, Desert Artists and Sage Brushers. She attended both Lake City Foursquare and Basin Community churches. Her love for Christ was so evident in her life. God used her battle with a brain tumor in 1989 to grow her faith in Christ. Her final battle came in January 2023 when she was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma. On Aug. 9, surrounded by her family, Jesus took her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Lola Parker and sister Jaqueline Reed. She leaves behind her husband David, the love of her life; daughters Connie (Tim) Kusler and Teri (Jim) Brown; grandchildren Rachel, Cody, Lee, J.D., Seth and Clarissa; great-grandchildren Gordon, Daniel, Aiden, Ella, Kyler, Karaleigh and Athena; and siblings Gary (Diane) Parker, Wayne Parker and Karen Liebrecht.

The family wishes to thank Hospice for their comforting care in her last days at home, and Amber and Michelle from Samaritan Radiology for their over-and-beyond kindness.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. at Moses Lake Presbyterian/Basin Community Church; 1142 W. Ivy St., Moses Lake Washington.
