Denver Lawrence ‘Larry’ Jones
March 24, 1932 – August 7, 2023
Larry Jones, 91, was born March 24, 1932, in McVeigh, Kentucky, and left us Aug. 7, 2023, in Battle Ground, Washington.
Larry moved to the Pacific Northwest with his family as a young boy and graduated from Evergreen High School in 1950. After time at Oregon State University and service during the Korean War, he purchased his farm north of Battle Ground in 1960. Farming was his love and he was a dairy farmer for many years.
His six kids were raised on that farm. He is survived by his daughters Cari (Ernie) Jones of Naukati, Alaska; Devon (Michael) Stone of Camas, Washington; and Nena (John Lamoreau) Jones of La Grande, Oregon; and a son Rand Jones of Malaga, Washington. Two sons, Kirby Jones and Aaron "Sparky" Jones, preceded him in death. He is also survived by his wife, Sue and three stepchildren Kelley (Debi) Babcock of Battle Ground, Kerri (Rick) Harris of Battle Ground and Kent (Sabrina) Babcock of Las Vegas, Nevada; numerous much-loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Larry and Sue moved to Moses Lake in the mid-1990s where he continued his farming life. They were active in the First Baptist Church in Warden, where they made many friends. They moved back to the Battle Ground area in early 2022 for health reasons.
A public memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Lewisville Park in Battle Ground at the Filbert shelter.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Mallard Landing for their kindness and care for our dad.
