GEORGE — A Puyallup man died from injuries sustained when he was run over by a boat trailer during the Watershed Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheater on Friday, according to a statement from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Carson Santos, 19, was running alongside a Toyota Tundra towing a boat trailer when he attempted to jump onto the tongue of the trailer, lost his footing, and fell under the wheels of the trailer, according to the GCSO statement. Santos was airlifted to Central Washington Hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Tundra, 23-year-old Dylan Guido of Roseburg, Ore., and his passengers remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement, the statement said. Guido was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the accident occurred.

SOAP LAKE — Grant County Fire District 7 recently acquired a used ambulance, according to a statement from the fire district.

The vehicle is a 2012 Ford F450 4x4, according to the statement. The ambulance will be used as the district’s regular ambulance, which will allow the other ambulance, a 21-year-old two-wheel drive vehicle, to be used as a backup, allowing the district to remain ready to serve while one or the other is undergoing maintenance and enabling the district to answer two calls at a time.
