Baird Springs fire prompts guardrail repairs this week
QUINCY — Travelers between Quincy and Wenatchee could face delays Monday and Tuesday as contractors make repairs to guardrails that were damaged by fire July 10.
Crews will be working between Trinidad, about eight miles west of Quincy, and the Quincy rest stop about five miles west of town, according to a press release from the Washington State Department of Transportation. Crews will be working from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The work will require flaggers controlling traffic and drivers shifting lanes, the WSDOT release said.
“Travelers should plan for slowdowns and delays and are asked to remain alert for the mobile work zone,” the release said.
Crews also are working on Highway 2 west of Coulee City, where the July 10 storm washed out a section of the road. Repairs to Highway 2 are scheduled to continue through late August.
