Mavs earn 10th win with sweep of Davis

YAKIMA – Moses Lake put together its ninth and 10th wins of the season with 16-0 and 18-0 road victories over Davis on Friday, moving to 10-2 on the year.

Maverick sophomore Paige Richardson went four-for-four at the plate and batted in six runs in game one of the doubleheader, and in the pitcher’s circle, surrendered two hits and struck out six batters over five innings pitched. Moses Lake scored five runs in the top of the first inning off of RBI by senior Ali Stanley, senior Jazlynn Torres and Richardson, then later added 10 runs in the top of the fifth to end the game in the same inning.

In the nightcap, Moses Lake began the top of the first inning with seven runs then added another in the second when Torres scored on a wild pitch. A 10-run third inning got started with Samantha Kilng scoring off a wild pitch, then RBI by freshman Ava Swett, junior Kendall Reffett and an inside-the-park home run by Kling.

Now 10-2, Moses Lake hosts Wenatchee for a doubleheader on Friday before traveling to Snoqualmie to face Mount Si for a doubleheader on Saturday.
