EPHRATA — The American Red Cross will be in Ephrata on April 19 for a blood drive, according to a statement from the Knights of Columbus and the Young Ladies Institute of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Parish. The two organizations are sponsoring the drive.

The drive will be held from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Ephrata Recreation Center, 112 Basin St. SW, according to the statement. The Red Cross has imposed a mask mandate in the past, but that has been lifted and masks are now optional, the statement said. Volunteers from the Knights of Columbus and YLI will provide cookies and sandwiches.

Participants are encouraged to get adequate sleep and maintain a healthy diet, according to the statement.

Appointments may be made by calling 1-800-Red Cross (733-2767) or visiting RedCrossBlood.org.
