ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Gonzaga men's soccer team went on the road to St. Thomas and came out with a 3-2 win over the Tommies. This marked the second-straight year the two teams have played each other, and Gonzaga claimed both wins over St. Thomas.

The Zags got on the board first in the 29th minute. The Bulldogs were awarded a corner kick and Wylie Trujillo had a short pass to Demitrius Kigeya, who then quickly passed it back to Trujillo. Trujillo made a long cross into the box and Diego Domenech headed the ball in for his first career goal as a Zag.

In the 34th minute, Gonzaga increased its lead to 2-0 after a goal from Loic Baures. The Tommies were attempting to clear the ball out of the box, but the Zags intercepted the ball back as R.J. Stretch and Domenech passed the ball back to Baures to score the goal.

At the end of the first half, the Zags were up 2-0 and only allowed five shots from St. Thomas.

In the 54th minute, St. Thomas scored its first goal of the day with a score from Faris Colic. The goal was assisted by Jacek Nickowski and Wes Lorrens to cut GU's lead to 2-1.

Logan Dorsey scored GU's third goal of the match in the 84th minute with an assist from Leon Sitz. Sitz passed the ball to Dorsey shortly after crossing midfield and Dorsey dribbled the ball the rest of the way to score his second goal of the year and increase Gonzaga's lead to 3-1.

In the 88th minute, Carver Tierney scored the second goal for the Tommies with the assist coming from McRay Drong. The goal came about 30 seconds after Johan Garibay made an incredible save off a penalty kick by St. Thomas.
