Seven Bays Fire 0% contained, evacuations issued

DAVENPORT — A press release on Sept. 6 by the Northeast Washington Interagency Incident Management Team brought an update on the Seven Bays Fire just north of Davenport.

The Seven Bays Fire, started on Sept. 4, is located approximately 15 miles northwest of Davenport and has burned approximately 1,000 acres of rangeland, stubble and scattered forest lands, the release said.

Current evacuations and road closures are as follows:

Level 3 which means ‘go’, Area that is within the following perimeter - North to Hume Road, West to Miles Creston, South to Reinbold Road and East to Hwy 25.

Level 2 which means ‘get ready’, is West of Hwy 25 starting at Reinbold road going North to Fort Spokane.

There is also a temporary closure of Miles-Creston road during the day and Reinbold and Mule Ranch road are open to local traffic only.

The release stated that on Sept. 5 that firefighters and air resources were able to establish containment lines around 90% of the fire perimeter but the fire is at 0% containment as of the morning of Sept. 6.
