Paul Robert Ulrich

Paul (Bud) Robert Ulrich was born Oct. 23, 1949, in Flint, Michigan to Eldor and Julia Ulrich.

Upon graduation from high school, Paul joined the Marine Corps to serve in the Vietnam War. He entered service on Aug. 3, 1968, and received an honorable discharge after being wounded in combat. His citations include the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Purple Heart Medal, Vietnam Service Medal/ with 1*, Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Citation, Vietnam Campaign medal with device and Ation of the Gallantry Cross with palm.

On his way to his first duty station, Paul married the love of his life, Diane Margaret Deene, on June 11, 1969. After his honorable discharge, Paul became a well driller by trade, but he especially enjoyed gardening. Toward the end of his life, Paul was surprised by the joy of the Gospel, and became a faithful member of The Apostolic Lutheran Church.

He died peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 14, trusting his Lord will raise him from his grave on the last day. He is preceded in death by his wife, father, mother, sister Ruth and two brothers-in-law.

Services will be held on Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Apostolic Lutheran Church, located at 422 Road S NE, Moses Lake. Following the funeral Paul will be interred at Veteran Cemetery in Medical Lake at 1:45 p.m.
